Women planning weddings before meeting a man? Oh. →
I’m talking caterers, DJ’s, the whole shabang.
I was talking about this with a friend the other day. And I said, “I bet there are women that are so psycho that they go out and plan their wedding as they meet a guy.” Little did I know my blind statement had eyes.
Dumb LeBron Nonsense of the Day →
This is why I’m happy the Sixers don’t have a superstar. I’d have to constantly read stories like this. Instead, I read about how the Sixers partake in yoga during practice. Must be nice haha.

Eh.
Although last night’s games led to the worst possible Super Bowl matchup for an Eagles fan, I woke up Monday feeling good about the games and even better about the duel about to take place in two weeks. When you’re team is out of it (…in my case that happened about 5 weeks into the season #dreamteam), you don’t look necessarily for one team to beat another, you really just look for good...
Here’s to having a great week… I could use one of those!

Nbatoday.net
I used to write for an NBA blog with six friends. It was awesome. But then one friend saw “The Social Network” and tried to turn fun into greed.
A year later after a nastier break up than Kobe and Shaq, I’m left with plenty to post about, but no proper outlet.
Not cool.

Penn State vs. The World
As I sit glued to my couch, watching the media coverage of the Penn State scandal, multiple things have become very clear to me. But before I begin my rambling bullet statements, I must let you all know that Joe Paterno is the second favorite white person in my household behind White Jesus. Both of my dad’s brothers graduated from PSU. I have family members in the school now, and I myself...

I realized today that some people only say things about bad situations to make themselves feel better. You don’t need to say anything to me…I’ve already lost my respect for you.
Meanwhile I only gain more confidence in the fact that I’m a good person. I don’t ever look to better myself through the detriment of others. Not my style and it never will be.

Finally Famous
This Big Sean album is tough. I like to describe it as a poor man’s version of college dropout haha.
It’s rare that I can just put a new album out and just let it run without skipping a song or four.

when Words with Friends goes wrong.
Big fan of Words with Friends (username: galen_). What’s better than distracting yourself in a meeting than trying to figure out how you’re going to plant your “Q” on that ‘triple letter’ score box? I like to think that I’m pretty smart, and considering my mom used to drag my brother and I to the library every summer as youngsters, I’m a solid...

Going to the NBA draft tonight. Can’t wait to see how the sixers screw up. I need iguodala off my team…and not for odom, kaman, or any other player that obviously wouldn’t fit our teams style haha.

My New Years Resolution:
I think this year on forward, I’m trying to be the best Galen I can be. It’s easy to get caught up trying to be this way or that way….figure I might as well just go with what works and be myself.
And it’d be cool if I started running again haha.

Top 5 Purchases of 2010, #2 The iPhone 4.
Waited in line for this sucker, like it was a pair of Jordans. Well worth the wait. I even went back and stood in line with my friends after I had gotten mine. This is the first piece of media ever recorded from my phone. It’s short and sweet.
This phone has saved my life multiple times, including being lost in New York, entertaining me on train...

Top Purchase of 2010: #4
Nets’ Season Tickets. I know they are horrible, but the teams they play aren’t always. I’ve already seen Miami, the Lakers, and Orlando. And at $400 for the tickets, that comes down to about $10 a game.
“Nets’ Basketball….Expeeeerience It.”
Oh, and they just traded for Sasha “The Machine” Vujacic. I think the tides are turning.

LeBron and the "Secret" to Coaching
So it seems already, with the Heat looking pretty terrible (only 1-7 against winning teams), head coach Erik Spoelstra is taking a lot of heat ( http://nba-point-forward.si.com/2010/11/29/miami-tensions-is-spo-really-to-blame/ )
As a coach myself (ha!), if there’s one thing I could say about managing athletes is that you have to let your athletes be themselves. Albeit, I coach high school...

Thanksgiving Eve = High School Reunions
As usual, the night before Thanksgiving is a night where you will fortunately and unfortunately get to see a lot of old people from high school that you haven’t seen in a while. Most people that you want to see, you already remain in contact so it shouldn’t be too big of a deal.
However. Then there’s the group of people you really don’t want to see. After a few shots of...

Office Etiquette
So ever since I’ve become a part of the 9 to 5 grind, it’s dawned upon me that the people of this world are out of control. I make it my everyday goal to not become a member of this underworld, where arguments over staplers, and talking obnoxiously loud are ordinary.
So I’m now preparing a list of proper etiquette for all of the annoying 9-to-5er’s who may not even be...
And for the record...
Every post on this blog is done from my phone, hence the many errors and lack of capitalization lol.

Halloween for Black Dudes.....
…sucks.
Halloween 1998:
Friend: Hey Galen, what are you for Halloween?
Me: (in superman costume) Uhhh…I’m superman.
Friend: Huh? What? Superman’s not black.
Me: Yeah….well I’m black superman.
Friend: Oh (shrugs)
This exact conversation has happened to me many-a-halloween. in the
weeks leading up to halloween, I would always discuss possible ideas

The boycott has begun....
It’s that time of the year, where being a sports fan has it’s many highs and lows. Baseball is nearing it’s end while the NFL action is heating up. And right around the corner is another NBA season.
Too bad I won’t be giving a shit this week.
The phillies went out and lost embarrassingly to the San Fran giants while the eagles continue to be consistently inconsistent....
What I Do at Work
My parents ask me everyday, “So what did you do at work today?” I usually fill their heads with over exaggerations of my social working abilities, as I help solve the epidemic of kids needing foster care.
But you guys? Nah I can’t lie to the people. So let’s take a look at what I actually do from 9 to 5, most days.
I spend the first hour at minimum reading sports...
My new office
So at my job, we all get cubicles. Even though I’ve done everything possible to make it so that I’m hidden, I still realize I’m not when I look and see everyone staring at me. That being said, I’ve overlooked a great great positive from being the only male employee.
Ah yes, the mother effing bathroom. I love it. I have two stalls and a urinal that noone else use. So when...

Make Goals.
My dad has been harping on me to make a list of goals. So I told him I had, except it’s just in my head.
Ten curse words later he told me to write them down and show him a list. Doing this was a lot harder than I thought it would be and it made me think a lot harder about what I wanted to accomplish.
Hours later, I was pretty much done, and now I feel so much better. Now I have things...
Viva las Vegas
I never did make my las Vegas trip recap.
And I’m not going to.
They say what happens there stays there so I guess a lot of things are better left unsaid haha.

Some hip hopbsevations
Yes I just combined hip hop and observations…
With the release of Rick ross’ Teflon don, there is a lot off buzz going on. Other notable recent releases include that of drizzy drake and mr Marshall mathers.
Em’s album is tight. Real tight. Drakes album was alright. And Rick rawses album gets a big OK.
So for competition sake, I rank these three releases like so.
